First we would like to thank you for your visit and we hope you will soon become a regular customer.

 

Like any business we have certain terms and conditions to which we always abide. For your piece of mind we have those rules listed here. They are few and (we believe) reasonable.

We do not sell knives to minors. Anyone under 18 that purchases from us without their parents consent will be noticed and reported. If a parent gives consent the fault is theirs.

When an order is placed we naturally assume that the buyer is using their own money. Sadly that is not always the case. Buying anything with a stolen credit card is fraudulent theivery, and we will do everything in our power to see that the person(s) responsible are dealt with accordingly by law.

We fully and gladly cooperate with the police and any other government officials.

The responsible party isn’t the only one who pays in a situation like this. If the victim or bank doesn’t catch it in time the missing funds are taken from the shop keeper’s account. Please understand, we are a small business and cannot afford to pay for another’s criminal acts.

Any financial damages to DCKnives will be the responsibility of the wrongdoer and will be pursued.

 
We reserve the right to refuse sales to any person for any reason or no reason at all.

Orders

All Michael Prater knives are custom hand made for the customer

They will be shipped upon completion.

This may take a few weeks but the result of your patience will be undeniable.

When you place an order please be sure that what you have chosen is exactly what you want. Because of differences in areas shipping dates are hard to predict and cancelation might not be possible. If you do place an order incorrectly we would appreciate notification that same day or Before 3:00 the next day before orders are tended to.

Replacements

If you receive a knife that differs from your placed order, or if your knife arrives damaged, please let us know with 48 hours and we will correct any mistakes we have made. Otherwise a return fee of 25% may be charged.

Damages

Once again if we have sent a faulty, damaged, or wrong item we will gladly fix the matter free of charge with reciept of said knife.Please realize though that If your knife is damaged due to your actions it will not be replaced. And for those of you who might attempt to pass off his/her accident or mishandling as one of ours or the manufacturers, this is easily recognizable. You will not recieve a replacement and all repairs will be charged for. You will also be responsable for shipping costs and the return fee.

If your knife is in need of repair and a replacement doesn't apply please contact the manufacturer.

Design “Flaws”

There are certain natural materials (like wood, ivory, pearl, etc) and man made things (like mica, paua, enamels, etc.) that are not going to be exactly the same as the picture, or any other of its kind. Most people understand this and appreciate the beauty of them anyway. This is for those who might not. We do not accept these as imperfections, mistakes, or "design flaws". All returns for these items will be charged the return fees.

 

Returns

Please let us know you are returning something, and why, before the return is made. If any product is returned that does not warrant a replacement you will be charged a 25% restocking fee and is responsible for shipping. A verified replacement is not charged for. If a Michael Prater customized knife is to be returned or "backed out of" without proof of defect or flaw, you will be held responsible for the cost of OUR purchase of said item. please be sure to order exactly what you want!!

As always it is better for you to reach us via e-mail. The phone is not recommended, but we do check our e-mails daily ( dc.knives@yahoo.com ). We do have an answering machine and if a phone call is necessary we will try to call you back as soon as possible.
